What we do
Established in 1992, the Community Rural Development Society Nepal (CRDS Nepal) is a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nepal. It was founded by a group of social workers from Dandakot VDC with the aim of promoting social development in the country. Over the years, CRDS Nepal has experienced remarkable growth and has become one of the fastest-growing NGOs in Nepal. Its development initiatives are widespread, covering various geographical areas and diverse populations.
Since its inception, CRDS Nepal has actively collaborated with impoverished and marginalized communities in rural Nepal. The organization focuses on empowering these communities by addressing their basic needs, improving livelihoods, fostering economic development, and helping establish their own institutions. CRDS Nepal adopts a rights-based approach to development, playing a crucial role in empowering and reconstructing the socio-economic status of rural populations.
CRDS Nepal is dedicated to creating an environment that is conducive to a just, equitable, peaceful, and prosperous society. The organization specifically targets the empowerment of the rural poor, with a special emphasis on disadvantaged groups such as rural women, peasants, landless individuals, and other socially oppressed segments of Nepalese society. In addition to implementing integrated community development programs at the grassroots level, CRDS Nepal engages in advocacy, lobbying, and networking at the local, regional, and national levels. This comprehensive approach aims to protect and promote human rights and social justice within the communities it serves.
